Providing Quality Fasteners Since 2017
Our Story So Far
ScrewPro’s journey began in late 2017 when Klaus Körber, the owner of Pitch 45 and a truss manufacturer, started importing fasteners and tools from Eurotec. At that time, the South African market was flooded with counterfeit Chinese fasteners, leaving businesses with overpriced or uncertain quality products. Klaus saw the need for high-quality fasteners to ensure the safety and reliability of his truss products, and so ScrewPro was born.
As word spread about the availability of these superior fasteners at competitive prices, other truss plants, roofing companies, and woodworkers began seeking out ScrewPro’s products. The demand was so significant that ScrewPro was formally registered in 2018 and started importing and distributing fasteners throughout Southern Africa.
In 2020, like many others in the construction industry, ScrewPro faced challenges due to the pandemic. However, 2021 brought renewed opportunities, and the staff of ScrewPro saw a chance to take ownership of the company. By October 2022, ScrewPro had become a 100% South African family-owned and operated business, proudly achieving BBBEE Level 4 status. This change in ownership marked a significant milestone, allowing ScrewPro to offer its customers BBBEE credits and further support the community.
The change in ownership was driven by a desire to provide exceptional products while eliminating concerns among truss plants that supporting ScrewPro would inadvertently fund a direct competitor. Since becoming owner-operated, ScrewPro has prioritized its customers’ needs, resolving stock shortages, and significantly improving service levels. Additionally, they initiated discussions to manufacture their own line of quality fasteners, ensuring even greater control over product quality.
As a result, several truss plants that were initially hesitant to support ScrewPro have now come on board, recognizing the company’s commitment to quality, reliability, and ethical practices. ScrewPro is grateful for the support they have received from companies, both large and small, in South Africa and beyond.
Looking ahead to 2023 and beyond, ScrewPro is excited to continue growing their offerings, providing top-notch fasteners that guarantee the highest levels of safety and quality for their valued customers.
